EIRA Showcases Innovation at Velo-city 2025 with CAMBER Project Spotlight

Gdańsk, Poland – June 2025

The European Institute of Road Assessment (EIRA) proudly participated in the Velo-city 2025 conference in Gdańsk, Poland, from June 10–13, showcasing its latest innovations in cycling safety and infrastructure planning. The conference theme, “Energising Solidarity,” offered a dynamic platform for global mobility leaders to exchange ideas and present transformative projects.

Shanna Lucchesi, EIRA Road Safety Innovation Project Manager delivered a  presentation titled “Crowdsourcing and Cycling Safety Data to Prioritise Maintenance Investment of Cycling Routes”. The presentation emphasized how iRAP’s global data-driven approach is aiding cities in identifying and prioritizing high-risk cycling routes for maintenance and investment, aiming for a world free of high-risk roads.

A highlight of EIRA’s presence was the showcase of the CAMBER project—Connected and Adaptive Maintenance for Safer Urban and Secondary Roads. At the booth, attendees explored CAMBER’s pilot activities and how promoting a systematic and inclusive approach to road safety will impact cycling in the EU. Additionally, iRAP received the prestigious ECF Road Safety Award for the CycleRAP initiative, a significant recognition of the fundamental role assessment tools play in saving lives.
